The Pique d’Estats, standing proudly as the highest peak of both Ariège and Catalonia, offers an unforgettable experience for those who venture to its summit. While the climb itself is not technically challenging, the journey is long and demanding, requiring both stamina and careful planning. My Quickest Activation Yet: Battling the Cold and Wind
This activation turned out to be my fastest one to date, with just a handful of QSOs logged. The harsh conditions at the summit—a biting cold and relentless wind—made it clear I couldn’t linger for long. Adding to the challenge, I didn’t want my friend, who accompanied me on this adventure, to endure the freezing temperatures while waiting for me to finish. Prioritizing safety and comfort, I worked efficiently, ensuring the activation was a success despite the limited time.
